Need help with wheel questions

I just recently put a set of 20" HRE wheels on my wife's Lexus SC430 and the dealership just called me and said that the steering wheel is shaking very very bad. I was wondering what could be causing this, I also put Tein coilover suspension in the car.

Rut Row, sounds like the Mrs. is going to be a little pissed at the in house mechanic...

Has the car been driven??? Perhaps a pot hole was hit and the rim has a bend???

Jcramair,

Sorry to hijack your thread, but where do you usually go to get your mods done on your Turbo? Just curious what the best place to install mods are in or around Boston. Thanks in advance!

Ryan

AeroTT - For mods, I use my tech Bob Fitzgerald (previous porsche head tech at Chambers - moved to cape now though so far!!), Invisible Touch Inc. (www.invisibletouchinc.com) and some stuff gets done at Herb Chambers...

Go to http://www.hunter.com/ and click on Find a GSP9700 in your area, this is by far the best wheel balance machine there is, it puts pressure on the tire while balancing, so the wheel is balanced with any imperfection in the tire accounted for.

jcramair1-

This question is going to seem off the wall, but has it been raining where you live?

Due to the design of the centers of the HRE's, water can pool up while the car is sitting still. As the car is going down the road the water has no where to go and can throw the balance off. As a result you get a serious vibration.

It happens with our Turbo and our Audi which both have HRE's.

Just a guess, but I hope this helps.
