Lowering the engine question

The plenum thread got me to thinking about lowering the engine. I dug through how-to forums on a few boards and then my pdf shop manual, but couldn't find anything useful about lowering the engine just a smidge. So...

Can someone point me to a writeup on lowering the engine enough to do intake part replacement? TIA!

Jeff

You just need to remove the two nuts from the motor mount (18mm) from under the car and also take off the lower boost hoses to the turbos. Also, remove airfilter box. Then place the jack under the motor where the two cases come together. Make sure to put a block of wood between jack and motor. When lowering, do so slowly and watch for anything getting snagged. Pretty simple.

Thanks, Don! Shoot me a PM with the cost of your turbo inlet plumbing, please. I'm only upgrading to UMW's stage 2 ZC hybrids at this point, so I may not need it now. But I will!

How far can you lower the engine down using this technique? Nothing needs to be disconnected? Wires, air lines, nothing???
