toolpants-question on shifter

need your help!the stock shifter has a square bushing on the side pivot ball,is this square bushing required on the b&m shifter?one other question is the cable adjuster-one blue n one black spring tentioner,to loosen it which way should it be adjusted,ie longer travel/shorter distance.5/6th gear is kind of tight.appreciate your advise.thanks.

Trust man...I did the B&M myself and forgot to mark the cables so adjusted it like a gazillion times until I ogt it right...
You DO need the plastic square bushing...
Adjust whichever cable is on the passenger side as the driver side one is ofr reverse only...

thanks again mansour! in the b&m instruction there is no mention of the square bushing on the side pivot ball n one other thing i notice is that the b&m side ball pivot is larger than the stock n it does not look like a good fit.

You don't use the square bushing - at least I didn't. As you said the ball on the B&M is much larger than stock and thus it doesn't even fit into the bushing. Do it without the bushing and you'll see that the larger than stock ball fits into the space perfectly, which is why you don't need the square bushing. And why the B&M instructions don't tell you to re-use it. This is what I remember, and I'm about 99% sure on this although I could be wrong.

tks jpatrick.,thght so ! thgh i have to be sure,i had tried to use the square bushing but it broke when i tried to insert it in not realising that the b&m has a larger pivot ball.hv no problems with the reverse but encountering stiffness in 5/6 gear.
