That rpm number has to be a typo. No car motor would
peak at that rpm. No turbo motor would produce it's
max power at much less than max RPMs...
Just assume the motor is hopped up enough to make
450hp. That's a lot, but it's probably closer to 6kRPM...

Joe, have you ever taken a look at graphs of some Audi engines? Especially the turbo variants:

Audi Rs6 415 lb-ft @ 1950 rpm - 5600 rpm
Audi A4 1.8T 166 lb ft @ 1950 rpm - 5000 rpm

They start very low and are extremely flat. Then again i'm talking about torque, and you're talking about power.

Right, Frosty, I'm talking about power, and so is the
claim. I know about low-end torque. I have a 410ci
V8 in my race Mustang, built for autocross (massive torque
everywhere, as opposed to everything at the top end).
My Mustang dynos at only 330rwhp at 4750rpm, but it
produces well over 400ft.lbs of torque from 2000rpm to
4750rpm!
Power (hp) is torque * RPM, so it we guess that this Porsche
motor is producing *monster* torque, even more than my
huge V8, let's guess a generous 450 ft-lbs, it's still going to
need to spin to over 6000rpm to get 500hp.
