Billet Shift Link

Has anyone had any problems with the upgraded billlet shift link? I had it come loose a few weeks ago (the allen screws came loose). Then I put some thread lock on them and it felt nice and tight for a few drives and today I felt some play in it again. WTF? Could it be a defective shift link or did I do something wrong? There really isn't anything you can muff on this thing. Slap it on, tighten it up, done.

Is It The Evo One? If It Is....it's A Nice Piece But I Was Told By Two Performance Porsche Shops And The Dealer That The Stock One Is The Way To Go Because Of That Reason. Mine Billet One Is In My Glovebox And I Don't Know Which Way To Go.

my stock linkage has exploded 11 times while shifting.....this is why I switched.......ummm...not. Has anyone actually ever heard of the shift linkage breaking, that wasn't a bs internet/message board story? Dunno, but I stick with the porsche parts until they break.

replaced mine and it had significant wear on it.
i know of one person who has broken a 996 linkage and was stranded as a result.

wouldn't loose sleep over it tho. i'd be more worry about those tire bills
