How do you guys Dyno your cars?
How do you guys Dyno your cars?
Hi guys,
After doing some searching, I see there are 2 methods to dyno the 996 Turbo.
1: Disconnect the driveshaft to the front wheels and dyno just the rear wheels or
2: Use an AWD dyno
My question is 2-parts:
A: Which method is most often used here and why?
B: Since I may not have easy access to an AWD dyno, I may have to go with method 1. However, I'm not sure how hard it is to disconnect the driveshaft. I would be worried that either myself, or the dyno operator would screw up and cause damage to the car. If it was an "easy" thing to do with no ill-effects, I would feel much more comfortable!
Thanks for the help,
KJ

Well, here at SP Engineering, we can dyno your 996 for you. We will remove the Rear Differential and dyno the car at the rear wheels. My techs have no problem removing the differentials since we've done it times before. For pricing, feel free to drop me a PM and/or send me an e-mail to mark@sp-power.com
