Need help deciding on brake kit.

I know this is a 996 Turbo forum, but I'm curious about your opinions on this matter. I track a 2003 corvette Z06 and want to go with a 4 wheel BBK. I've narrowed my choice to 2 kits. The Mov'it kit utilizes 996TT 4 piston monobloc calipers that are machined to accept 370mmX35mm Porsche style rotors with 4mm cast holes in front, 342mmX28mm similar rotors in back.

The other choice is the AP Racing 6 piston/4 piston setup that comes with slotted only floating rotors-355mmX36mm in front,330mmX26mm non floating slotted rotors in back. These are cast/forged 2 piece calipers held together with steel bolts.

Movit rebuilds the 996TT calipers with new teflon coated pistons and better dust seals. Both companies calipers have roughly the same pad area.

I'm curious what you think because you guys have a lot more experience with the 996tt brakes. Not interested in Brembos or Stoptechs. Thanks.

I am not certain the four piston will be enough for you. Do they have an adpater for the 6 piston? That is a much better caliper.

Don't the 6 piston calipers bolt directly to the 4 piston caliper brackets?

Yes they do. But they also use a larger rotor.
