I ran my Stage 4 FVD ECU on K16s no problem. I was told by FVD it would be ok until I got the K24s.

If it is trying to boost to 1.2 bar and keep it there your k16 is going to go into overboost (can't keep up with the demand) and will only be blowing hot air and the ecu will pull timing and you will loose power. May not hurt the motor but the turbos will not live long if you stay in it alot. This is what I have been told by many. K16 should be 1.1 bar max spike with 1.0 bar hold especially if you live in the heat like me. 95-100 degrees is not uncommon with nasty humidity.

Don't mess around with "piece mealing" because you will not gain anything
from it.

By a known package from known sponsors, period.

While not ideal for performance, running Stage 4 software with K16s will not hurt anything except possibly shorten the life expectancy of the K16s. The K16s are not very efficient over 1.0 bar, but the ecu will retard the timing when the intake temp is high. The A/F mixture will remain the same, regardless of turbocharger size.

That is a pretty bad idea.

It is called tuning for a reason.

You will purposely un-tune your car.

FVD is also the worst way to go. Why do you think there are so many FVD ECUs for sale?

That must be why I ran the 1/4 mile in 11.515 @127.25 mph with FVD stage 4 programming and K16/24 turbos. I do not know of a quicker K16/24 - 1/4 mile time. And even if there is, I think these results are far from a worst case scenario.

John, that's pretty impressive. Whose 16/24's are they? What were you putting to the wheels and what else was done aside from the turbos? I only ask because i'm thinking of going the 16/24 route. Was that also with full interior? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks!

The turbos came from the Speed Gallery (they were the low clearance version - similar to Kevins Zero clearance) and had Kevins wastegates installed on them. The only other mods were an EVO V-Flow and a RUF exhaust. The car was full weight, less the spare tire and tool kit and was on street tires. It was just a standard K16/24 car - no tricks. Never dynoed, so I don't know about the power.

Seriously, what a stupid comment. I had a whole Stg 2 setup on my ex turbo, suffice to say, the car was freakishly strong and flawless!

I know, I get so sick of people bashing setups they know nothing about and shamelessly promoting another.

John, was those runs made on race gas or pump gas ( 91-93 octane) ?
