Extended Warranty Purchase

I am looking at buying a 2001 Turbo out of state. I am a little apprehensive about this, but thought if I can buy an exteneded warranty (I think it is eligible since less than 6 yrs) that I would be OK to buy the vehicle.

Can I even purchase one and if so how much would it be and can this be used anywhere or just specific shops? Thanks guys.

I bought one when I got my 01'tt last month. It cost me $1800 and it covers everything that the Porsche CPO warranty does

Yes you can. call your dealership. they will likely charge you $150 or so on top of the price of the warranty to inspect it first.

But how does one verify it will be "warrantyable" before the purchase if you are buying from out of state? I was thinking of getting a place in the car's area to do a pre buy inspection, but who knows how good of a job they would do.

I have never bought out of state before, but with the limited number of Porsche's out there you have to look nationally. Just want to make sure I dont do something stupid. Seems like an '01 turbo could be a nightmare if you get a bad one.
