You, my friend, need a Remington 870 Shotgun loaded with either rock salt or #2 lead shot. There are several reason that this weapon is the best thing for home protection.

1) It is the most reliable fire arm ever man
I have several of this model and there are only about 4 or 5 moving parts in the whole gun. If it jams, all you have to do it pump it harder.

2) With these light rounds the bullets will not penetrate walls like a rifle or pistol therefore you do not endanger other innocent people.

3) There are limitless ammunition options for the 12ga. shotgun. You can load "less than lethal" rounds such as rubber *****, bean bags, and rock salt. You can also load rounds that are intended to do more damage suck as 00 Buck Shot and rifled slugs.

4) Finally, there are few scarier sounds on this earth than the sound of this gun pumping when you are somewhere you are not supposed to be.

The last time I was burgled... I had to laugh and cry at the same time. The idiots bypassed most of the expensive stuff and overlooked some serious hard cash I had sitting around.. and didn't touch my cars. But.. they did get a rather serious handgun.... one reason NOT to have a great gun sitting around...... or a very serious gun safe.

Honestly--- Be thankful they were mere thieves and didn't decide to trash your car and house just for the fun of it. I have seen that too many times.

that really stinks and I'm sorry to hear it. at least you can count the stolen goods on one hand. do you have insurance that might cover the theft? Do local authorities out there fingerprint in these types of situations?
