I keep wondering what my next car to park next to the 996 will be (ST Supra, E92 M3, E55, GT3, '08 GTR...)..and thanks to guys like you and Vicious, TT GTS Vipers keep popping in my head.

For what we spent on modding these TT's you could have a pretty serious Viper. Not to mention they don't look too bad either ....... totally different car though......you either like em or you don't.......with that said it is a nice change of pace from the TT.

has not been tested yet.

the Venom beat the Veyron by nearly 16 mph in a mile. given more room to stretch its legs i think it can surpass the veyrons top speed of 253 mph by 16+ mph.

It would take some creative gearing and tires to get it into the powerband for that speed range.

7k in 5th will put you right at 250. 6th is way too tall to pull that high. If you regear it with 4.10's it would theoretically pull almost 300 in 6th. It has the power to do it, but with that much torque you will tear the gears out of the tranny.

The last big hp viper I drove was making 1385 to the wheels and would pull from 150-210 harder than I've seen any other car go 50-110. The way it pulls in 5th just warps your perception of what fast really is. It will truly ruin you forever, as nothing ever feels remotely fast after that.

TT GTS Coupe would be high on my list when I get the go ahead to
add to the collection.

Joe,
I have a buddy with a fully modified 2000 ACR Coupe, Motons, big Baeur brakes, built motor (by Archer Brothers in Duluth, MN, cage, seats, etc.) Really fun, capable
track car!
That saphire blue is the bomb!!! (I kinda like dark blue you know)

I hit 190 in my Viper TT and it was smooth for the most part but better when I did the same in my 996TT - the viper sometimes gets squirrley in the back which kept me from ever attempting a 200mph+ run!

When I had my TT Viper, I had it at an Air Force base at an event whereby we did an exhibition TT Viper vs. Viper F16 on the runway. I had 4-5 runs from a dead dig to over 200 mph. I was running 19 inch street tires and making around 900 rwhp. The car was SOLID as a rock at 200+ mph and felt great. VERYYYYYYY stable... I had KW Coilovers on the car and it was lowered, otherwise stock suspension...

The SRT-vert is much more unstable at speed. I can take my hands off the wheel of a GTS at 170 with no worries. The tendencies to pull around in road grooves at 70 all go away once you get over 100, the car is on rails >130.

Is it funny (or actually sad) that Hennessey keeps on stealing people's money, yet still has enough sack to keep on competing in these comparos. I heard he basically fired all of his old staff to "focus" on just building cars, but is now back to his old tricks.
