batter maintainer problem, any thoughts?
batter maintainer problem, any thoughts?
Hello to all,
After a nine month sojurn, I returned to CHS this week. When checking the 996 for oil, water, and battery fluids I noticed a considerable amount of formation of battery acid corrosion, as well as the area around the battery was wet. It appears no fluid was being sent down the overflow tube. The water level of the cells themselves was down about an inch, and some very murkey looking brown particles floating around the surface. The Dino, Harley, and Benz were fine, no sign of any such events occuring and the levels were as I left them. All cars were on the Porsche Battery Maintainer. What gets me is that the only car that this happened with was the Porche, with the factory maintainer. Of course I'll complain to the dealer about it and hope he cleans it up/replaces the battery. This isn't the first time this has occured, even for short periods of a month or so. The Maintainer seems to be operating properly, turning itself on and off as always. Any ideas? Bad battery? Bad Maintainer? Anybody had the same complaint? What did your dealer/PCNA do about it?
Haven't had any time to be even lurking on the lists, but intend to get up to speed directly. Thinking about a 997....
