Ruf CTR2 details?

This car was brought up in Shawn C's thread but i wanted to make a new post and see if anyone had more info on it. It looks like something i may be interested in. What do you all know about it? What do you think it's worth?

There is a thread started on the GT3/GT2/GT forum...I estimate the car will go for in excess of 200K...

RUF CTR2, is an amazing car. All built are RUF cars, and typically have 500-600bhp in various trims.

The biggest differences with the CTR2 is the intercooler arrangement, in that they are in the shoulders in of the car and not on top of the engine, like other 993's. Mr RUF pioneered this approach with the CTR.

I was lucky enough to spend a day in a red CTR2 Sport with Mr RUF

The car was very fast, and it just stuck to the road around very fast autobahn sweepers.

The only fault i have heard about the CTR2 is the rear suspension which is a bit too soft for all the power and under full acceleration the suspension will push down too much, however if you decide to get one im sure RUF will modify the suspension.

All in all a brilliant car, i think there is one for sale in luxembourg, i will try to find it

best wishes

I think this CTR2 is the same car I was going to buy in LA. If so, check the following:

1. Is it original paint?
2. Does it have twin-plug and twin injectors?
3. Was the engine re-built by Ruf?
4. Does it have the Kevlar brakes?

If it's the car I saw, you'll answer "No" to all of the above. After driving in it, I felt by my 993 Turbo R was faster. Apparently Ruf didn't do #2 on some cars.
