key wont work

Thumbs down key wont work

so my key was not unlocking from the usual distance..... i replaced the battery with a new one..... now my remote wont work(key less entry and lock) i have to manually unlock and lock.........talk to the stealership and they said it would be $350 to re- program it?????? wtf????? any other way that i can do this re-program???????

If the car sat for a week this is normal (must be done manually).

Then it will go back to normal.

Try the ol'...

Hold the lock button, and while holding that button, press the unlock button 5-6 times.

Now reverse; hold the unlock button, and while holding the button, press the lock button 5-6 times.

May or may not work, but well worth the shot.

Thats exaclty what has happend to me with a week or so without driving my car, nothing to worry about.

Just open it manually after it has been sitting and it will start to work again

Actually you need to open manually, then within 10 seconds hit the remote unlock and it will take the remote out of sleep mode. Another reset of the key fob is to put the battery in reverse polarity for 15 seconds, then put it in correctly.
