airbag failure light

I'm getting an airbag failure light with 9,000 miles on a 2002 996TT. Anyone had this before, and what did you do or find out about it? I am going to the dealer Thursday to get the car state inspected so I can get new tags. Guess they can look at it then. Just wanted to know if it has happened to others.

If memory serves me...it could be your seatbelt buckle. Have you done any mods? Played with seats or belts or installed a new steering wheel?

No, everything is stock until UMW re-flash comes back to me in the post.

It is the seatbelt. There is a TSB and a update in the seat harness to stop this.
