Nice kill! There is no way you should beat a stock Hayabusa (they can break into the 9's stock) but you did and I say nice kill!

First of all congrats on a great set-up for the street.
Part of the new crew we run around with run a couple of modded Busa's
with Nitrous so I have no knowledge of what they run like stock. Both riders
who drag race a couple of times of month (low 9's to high 8's) said it is
almost impossible to ride a stock one in the 9's.
Having said that, my car has from a roll beaten (2) cars that run in the 10's.
My car is alot stonger than Todd's basic set-up and I would have a hard
time running with Stock Busa I would think.
The other thing I learned is that from a roll on the street, the fastest car does
not always win (it depends upon who gets the jump and how long the race goes).
It takes a very large differential in power to make up a 3-4 car jump in a race that
starts at 60 or 70 mph and only goes to 130 or so.

It sounds a bit strange that you beat the busa.. Is the guy on the busa a good driver? divexxtreme posted a video of his TT vs a Busa, but that was a pretty close race, But he puts out like 850whp or something. Either way you did beat him and a race is a race

 

the car is a 2001 996 TT..... The only "weight reduction" I did, was take out my spare tire, the passenger seat, all the panels and carpet with all foam in rear deck by ecu area. Your guess would be as good as mine...

 

Marty,its not impossible but it probably does take a suspension drop or a strap on the front end to keep it from picking the front wheel
so you can launch it hard.Also takes some *****.

 

sorry guys the busa dude wasnt feel'n well last night so he relaxed and enjoy'd the ride.... However...his buddies were ticked and wanted to go.. its on youtube zx10 vs protomotive 996tt ... I jsut uploaded so probs will be up later... BUT its there. once you get a chance to see it notice that the rider lifts at first and I of course didnt floor it all out then.... I waited till he got down and got on it... He didnt jump me...nor did I get on him... was pretty even. the cam at beginning was sideways and I didnt get the jump unfortunately... sorry, too many things going on...but you do however see me pass him confortably once we got going in higher gears.... you'll see. This video'n by yourself is very hard.... oh in case you want to know I duct taped a telescope tri pod to my car with the cam on it... lol...I was laughing so much when I was doing this...just so my buddies at 6speed could come along for the ride!!!.... ENJOY.!!... if there is another site to load videos quicker let me know ok..
