Odessy PC680 questions
How does the PC680 hold up if you were to sit in a parking lot for 20-30 minutes listening to the radio? Any problem starting or is this type of use OK?
its Ok John.,... I have it for 6 months now... I did it for a full 4 hours in my garage.

Would PC680 hold if you say dont drive the car for a week or so?
Still thinking whether to go 680 or 925. I usually dont drive during weekdays so i'm worried that 680 might not last for a week?

My car would not start after sitting for a week with the PC680. Need to always keep it on a trickle charger. It worried me that I would get stuck without juice. I switched to the Tempest battery per SallyMobile's advice. Couldn't be happier. Same weight and size as the PC680, but I don't have to keep it on a charger all the time.
Only problem with Tempest is that it does not use standard SAE terminal bolts, so you have to drill and tap larger holes in the terminal recepticles to fit the SAE terminials. Takes about 10 minutes to do.

Those are the batteries. More info:

There's something new out that's better, but a bit costly. If you want really want to go crazy, Lithium Iron Phosphate is probably the best way to go. They're nearly as light (considering power) as Lithium Cobalt Oxide (as seen in some electric bicycle batteries), without the annoying "propensity to explode" issue.

No, a week is pushing it with the 680. Definitely need a trickle charger unless you drive it at least 2 times a week.
I also carry a battery jumper pack with me when I travel with the car.
I've been using a 680 for 4 years now. First on my E46 M3, and then on my TT. It lasts just over a week without being on a trickle charger, but after that it drops voltage too much. If I am gone for a week or more, I always put it on a Battery Tender. I also never listen to music without the car running.
Overall, it works awesome. You just have to remember what it's limitations are.

I've had a 680 in my S4 for a couple years. It will start slowly if the car sits for more than a couple weeks. I bought a porsche automatic charger from the dealer and plug it into the lighter socket whenever the car sits for awhile.
