I still think I'd choose the GT2, though.
depends.... if you are buying it to collect it ten the price is fine. you install it in your colleciton and keep it @ zero miles, the price goes up over tme. you want to drive it, wait a year for them to come back into the secondary market: but yo'll never get exactly what you wanted... this will be a VERY important car for Porsche... a car in which there are many firsts.... you may contact the factory and get a custom setup and hopefully avoid the dealer-drama altogether. try deales in every country around the world adget your alltment that way, knowing that wherever you buy it, you'll have to ship it 2X. you may also try RUF of Germany and see if you can back-door the dealer process if they get an allotment... talk about a potentially DESIRABLE option!

My dealer offered me one at 191k. That is what they are saying the sticker is. Unfortunately I don't agree with Speed Yellow. Just like all Porsches. The prices of them will drop. 996 GT2's are in the 130's now.

I know the prices will drop on the 2ndary market. My comment was based on the idea that #1 the buyer wants a factory-custom car with their own "freaky" equipment package (a set of *asks* from Porsche that would be really unique, tastful, a killer package that would blow people away) and #2 that the car would then NEVER be driven. Seinfeld's Mexico Blue 1997 Turbo S was great example. ROCK needs to buy a car and drive it, so that's a different story, of course. Your GT3RS was an unusual find!

The GT2 is spoken for unfortunately. You'll find one for sure. The beauty of cars is if you like it just buy it and who gives a F what they cost. Just like watches. Can't justify the pricing but nice stuff to have.
