my PSM won't turn off

I have the pushed the PSM off and it lights up and says PSM off. But, I have noticed a few times that it still flashed the little yellow light with a triangle to the left of the PSM OFF light on the dash and it felt as if the PSM was still activating.
There's is a difference from when it's ON to when it says it's OFF, but it doesn't really seem to turn off, it just gives a little more but it's still coming on. Any suggestions?

BTW, car is RWD with UMW programing, clutch and LWFW.

Where and under what cirumstances does it come back on? Track, aggressive driving? PSM never goes fully off unless you program it out, but I dont think my light cuts back on though, even if I lose it a little.

Just a few times under agressive driving when turning. The rear starts to go sideways, but then the PSM seems like it cuts in and it doesn't smoothly come back, it kind of jerks back abruptly.
So when it says off, it doesn't really mean off? Can it be programmed to default to off unless I want to turn it on?

Mine comes back on under hard accel. It's never fully off. If you want it fully off for "special" situations, pull fuse B9 - of course I think you lose ABS as well, but it gets the job done.

Psm

I'm pretty sure the only way to get rid of it is to remove fuse, but you will lose ABS as well. Hope that helps.

I don't want to lose ABS or have to pull a fuse. I just want it to turn off when it says OFF.

Then you have to get the GT2 Map to eliminate it, that's the only way.

what situation are you in that you dont want your PSM??
I have all my students at the track keep it on.
As for the answer I am a good driver and dont want or need it....well it interferes very little if the car is driven properly at the track on the correct line.
I do turn mine off at the track at times, and yes it has an override for when you really need it.

also with that kind of power and RWD, good luck I hope this is only done at a race track!!

Really not that big of a deal, I just thought I had a problem with it because it was kicking in when it said off. I just thought off really meant off, and i had an issue with the car because mine was still engaging when it said it was off.

Mine is off the second I get onto a track premesis, unless it's a new track, then it gets a lap of two, you cant use slip angles to the max with PSM, it's constantly hitting the "oh no" pedal. If fact you dont even realize just how much it interferes unless you hover your foot over the brake in hgh speed turns, the ones where you need the biggest slip angle to be fast.

It's not that bad though, I am still within a second of my fastest lap with the PSM on, so you can get around it (sometimes, depending on track and turn). Hard to be consistent though if you push the limits at all.

Agree, but my lap times are so close on or off I thought, **** I'm not winning any money may as well keep it on?!

Permanent fix to this is to trick YOURSELF by cleverly blacking out the "orange" light on the PSM switch. you'll feel HEROIC when you don't drive sideways in corners and you mysteriously track straight as a arrow coming out of those corners on full boost, wriggling slightly as you magically straighten out while driving through "track debris" and shooting into the next corner slamming the car into (again) a magically controlled slide with ABS engaged before hitting the gas AGAIN boosting the car toward your final destination... You'll feel like a GOD as Porsche intended; and then hand the keys to the valet since the preceding drama was just a quicker race-route from your morning coffee spot to the parking garage at your office building. (grin) SY
