Hey Sechsgang and Fabryce.
I'm new to the TT track experience but have raced Cup Cars and currently race a GT3RS. I've done 1 test day and found the TT a verrry different car to drive - heavy, relatively soft but with heaps of torque. Your photos seem to indicate a fairly soft rear set up hence the raising of the inside front? I have a limited slip diff, PSS9 Bilsteins, adjustable sway bars, half cage, standard springs and Hoosier R6's. Power has been upgraded in turbos, intercoolers and ECU so it's more the handling that I'm chasing. Any advice you can give me on set up and tyres?

Arg,

First off welcome to 6speed.. We have been racing Porsche Cup Cars in Speed GT for a few years now and have been very succesful as a privateer team... Racing really does improve the breed!

Our GT2 was running a medium set up 1100lb rear springs with Moton dampers in the rear.. Just putting the power down! @ 600+ HP you can understand why we get rear squat.
LOL...

Anyways, welcome aboard.. If there is anything I can do or be of any help in the racing feel free to drop me an email or check out our website..

my best and honest advice would be to ditch the PSS9 setup due to the lack of adj and just go into JRZ/Moton. After watching( or finding out) my car (also on hoosier r6s) did that, I went back to the pits and adjusted the rebound and compression settings. I (read Dougherty Technitions) found that lowering the rebound of the front while increasing the compression of the rear allowed my car to put more power down early without A. Lifting the wheel or B.understeering from midcorner out on throttle application. It was a suprisingly simple fix for a major problem. FWIW I run 7 and 8 hundred lb springs.

also FWIW...I had a guy (instructor for the PCA who owns new gt3) tell me an my technitions he could not BELIEVE how fast/grippy the car was even with the weight dissadvantage...you should have seen his face when I was giving him a ride into some of the corners...haha...priceless...

feel free to ask any other questions.
Fabryce really knows his stuff and def more than I do about car dynamics in general...but your dealing with a TT and Ive been working with my TT for a bit now. Any thing you can ask (ehem...err...most) can be answered! Ask away!

ARG, welcome. What kind of limited slip do you have? I've just bought the Manthey version with 45% lock (55% slip), don't know yet who is the manufacturer. How have you liked it? Should be good for track?

sechsgang is true that the PSS9 is not the perfect setup at all, but it's not a poor one either for club racing etc. I've got the FVD version of it, valved according to FVD specs and different springs too (it's stiffer = better.)

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll resist the temptation to change the suspension for now as the car is intended to be a daily driver and I have previously overdone the changes on a GT3 so that it got almost unstreetable. The ideal would be the 1500lb springs I have on the race car but I'd lose my fillings before I got to the corner!

I have only recently bought the car which was set up for Targa Tasmania (5 day road race) so if anything I'm making it a bit nicer to drive. As for what diff it has I'm not sure other than to say its almost a full locker - very noisy on tight turns. The car is scheduled for a 3 day meeting at Bathurst (Australias No 1 track) in December so I'm looking to experiment with setup to make the most of the opportunity. I'll let you know how it goes.

But if you don't look ahead you might bump in to the Boxster in front of you.
