Does anyone else think the interior looks PERFECT...

...for an Audi A8L?

What the heck?

well, when the execs read this, they will be sure and go with the other interior options. Good job being free consultants. It reminds me of Rennsport II when Metzker was asked about the boxster coupe and he responded "I don't know that the car (is) in its final form."

Other than the crest on the steering wheel, there is nothing that reminds me of a Porsche sportscar...It could be any one of many sports sedans out there. What a shame.
Exactly my thoughts...

I was trying to figure where exactly I'd seen those door panels before... You hit the nail on the head!

The problem with the 996 interior isn't so much the design, it's the quality of the materials, just not fitting for a $100k car. I can't tell from those pics the quality of materials in the 997 (although those door speakers look straight out of a Kia) but the design blows. Why didn't they simply use the CGT as the design model, instead of that retarded Cayenne?

I think I'm done with Porsche.

I think the lines are too angular and not in keeping with the elegant lines of the classic 911 body. Atleast the 996 has some nice curves on the inside. Porsche needs to re-think some of the design direction on the new 997 IMHO.

Ugh... Youve got to be kidding me. I hate that steering wheel, analog clock, and just about everything else inside the 997. Its a Porsche, not an Audi.

hmmm....you guys sound repetitive and cliche'. i'll bet you are the same group that hated the boxter/996 interior not so long ago, and now love upgrading it with goofy painted air vents and color matched consoles. as soon as you see one in black with some sort of gt3/CGT seats, a console-delete (or whatever tiny little weight-savings delete option) and maybe some rs-type door panels and a suede steering wheel, you'll all be praising it's beauty....i will bet on it.
new designs are always hated at first it seems, then grown to be acceptable, then finally loved. once you drive the car (or it's turbo or rs-type big brother), you will all forget that you didn't like those first photos just as you forgot that your 996's share the same interior, more or less, as the boxster.
nothing against the interior of the 996 OR the 997, just hate to hear the same cycle of thought patterns over and over! ;-)

I see your point. But that clock on the dashboard... brrrrrrr... There's no excuse for that and there's definitely no way to get used to it. Ask me again in 4 years and I'll still hate the 997 interior. Promise!
It's still sad though...

okay, you got me! that clock has GOT to go! not sure WHAT they were thinking! it's a good thing that their quality is above par to make up for the styling. it is kind of like when you see all of these american concept cars at the auto shows with all the best materials and paint used on them and they look GREAT!....then the production version comes out and the quality of materials is not even close to the show car. this is why i hardly ever even look at prototypes at the shows. at least you know porsche's quality will be high! i think i would rather have an interior with a design i wasn't the fondest of but of high quality than a nice design with horrible quality.....

Sorry guys but I have the Cayenne TT and can say that even the Cayenne interior is sexier than the 997. This is not a good sign for the 997 (non turbo). Lets just cross our fingers that the turbo will be different.

The 996 interior was a DRASTIC change to the classic 911 interior that stood for over 20 years. Most of us have gotten used to the 996 by now but did we hate the interior that much when it debuted? I cannot see myself liking the 997 interior at first glance but will we get used to it and learn to like it with time?

I think the interior looks fine, well except for that hideous clock.
