Turbo dressed for the track
I've done Mazda (Laguana) twice, Willow 5 times, Buttonwillow, and Las Vegas. Doing Willow again on the 19th and then again the following week.
I'm getting to the point where I am actually adjusting the suspension and tire pressure. I am almost keeping up with the car....

looks great Ken. I love that color and stripe combination and those chrome wheels look killer as well. I did kinda laugh as well when i saw the handicap license plate but it was unexpected..sister is mentally retarted and i support the special olympics so no worries here mate...back to the subject, car looks excellent! take care
Don,
got the decals, stripes, and numbers from http://www.instylegraphics.com/index.asp? - great service and fast. Cost a couple of hundred dollars for the stripes and install. And they pull off easy for clean up.

Nice car Ken. I really like that look too. I didn' think I would when I read what you're doing, but then as I looked at it, I was very impressed.
To give you some ideas maybe, here's a pic of the sweetest race-dressed Turbo I've ever seen. It's a true race car interior and all, so I know you may not want to go this far, but this may give you some more ideas.

I like the stripes, not overdone, just looks good. The Circles on the door remind me of Herbie the Love Bug!
Speaking of the plates, is it not a pain to have the handicapped plates rather than a little sign that you can throw on the dash? Or do you get one of those as well so you can use it when in others cars? My wife who has MS just gets a pass so she can use it in different cars.

one of the major plus of my "incident" is that I get to park in the big blue parking spots. I kept forgeting to put the placard up and the quickest way to p*ss off the world is to park in a handicap spot in a $100k+ car without a placard. Everyone thinks you're an a**hole. So I went with the plate.
Ken, I forgot to ask, do you bra during track or is there a 3M like product on the bumper. Also, I remember when I got my first 996TT and when I inquired about mesh screens to the aftermarket folks and my dealer, they all unanimously said "No," something about cutting down on air flow to the radiators and that it (air) was really necessary for the TT. I just thought, especially since you track in the desert, what the dealer and the aftermarketers are saying now. I currently have mesh but it is a larger diameter hole and there are 6 apertures in my Gemballa nose......

Kyle, a surgeon slipped during back surgery and punctured my spinal column taking away all sorts of goodies, but the only one people can see is I lost the nerves in my left (clutch) leg. I have a slight limp and no plantor flexion which is the power in your foot to push a clutch or go up stairs. You learn to deal with it.
James, I don't use a bra because I'm committed to repainting the car when it gets a lot of chips. I guess when I stopped putting plastic slip covers on the couch I decided to deal with issues like stone chips after the fact. As far as air flow, it's cut down but I'd rather have that than a stone through the cooling system at 140 mph.

I think this is one of the rare occassions where it looks good, seems as though the beauty is in its subtlety since the silver compliments the gray well, rather than distracting from it. I like it as a whole, must look killer with the stock wheels on hustling around the track.
I think that's the most tasteful race look I've ever seen, and say that it is perfect for just driving around too. You have it race dressed as a legit track driver, so I think you should drive it around just like that! (Unlike most here, I'm not a fan of chrome wheels, though, so I'd swap shoes...)
Don't like it at all. Can't stand the chicken wire grill. Chrome has no place on a sports car. Stripes are... whatever.
And doesn't the 996 Turbo need more of an "undressing" of its porky weight than "dressing"?
Thx for sharing, regardless.
