New SpeedTech 70mm Y-Pipe $799
New SpeedTech 70mm Y-Pipe $799
The SpeedTech Hi-Flow Y-Pipe is made of mandrel bent aluminum tubing and machined billet aluminum. Inlet tubes are 2 1/2" and they lead to a choice of OEM 68mm or 75mm exit tube at the throttle body depending on which size throttle body is utilized. The SpeedTech Y-Pipe flows more air than the OEM Y-Pipe and for cars with upgraded throttle bodies, will feed a 75mm TB a full 75mm of air vs. the smaller 68mm OEM sized Y-Pipe, which is significantly smaller than the 75mm TB throat. Some advantages of the Y-Pipe are:
Options are:
Y-Pipe Powder coating to match exterior body color
Custom color powder coating
Choice of boost hose color (if purchasing full 70mm kit)
The complete intake kit enables you to upgrade to a full 2 1/2" boosted intake system, such as some of the custom high HP builds, while retaining the OEM style fresh air intake and OEM MAF. In fact, with black silicon hose and black powder coated Y-Pipe the appearance would be very OEM for anyone that wanted to retain the stock look. The opposite of this is the ability to showcase the engine with a mix of colors, body color or a custom color ...the photo below shows the SpeedTech Y-Pipe in yellow with red hoses.

Speedtech 2 1/2" diameter plumbing vs. OEM connector
- If you are running a 75mm throttle body with an OEM Y-Pipe, you are defeating the purpose of the larger TB. This Y-Pipe will enable you to take full advantage of your hardware.
- If you are using upgraded turbos with the OEM Y-Pipe and OEM throttle body, the SpeedTech Y-Pipe will enable the increased air pressure of the larger turbos to reach the TB faster, with less restriction, increasing power and response.
- With the optional complete intake kit, you can run full 2 1/2" plumbing from the intercooler to the Y-Pipe. This will deliver full air pressure with less restriction right to the throttle body opening. This complete system can easily be configured to provide a complete 2 1/2" tract from the turbo outlet, through the IC's, up the the Y-Pipe and subsequently deliver the air to the throttle body either in 68mm or 75mm diameter flow. This is a significant and worthwhile upgrade for cars with larger than OEM turbos.
- If you have stock IC's and stock style boost hoses, but would like to increase your Y-Pipe flow and/or adapt to a 75mm throttle body without the OEM TB "neck down"... that is possible, as well with just the Y-Pipe and the couplers for the throttle body and the OEM hoses.
