Where are the option codes listed????

Hi guys. I've been looking at used 996's and I was wondering where on the car is the sticker that lists all the options by code? I see for sale ads with pics and people often show a pic of a sticker with option codes on it like this one:

Any idea where this is located on the car? Or is it not on the car and found in a the manual?

Thanks.

Not always under the hood. That's a dealer thing. The dealer places it under the hood when the car is delivered. Some dealers don't since they tend to curl up and fade when they are put on the car and simply place the sticker in the owners manual. Note: the car comes with 2 stickers. Try to track down both, I have seen one stuck on the manual with the second one placed in the manual with the backing still on. If not then maybe the hood was repainted.

Also depending on age and environment, you may have an options sticker on the hood and it may be blank... The ink fades, mine is unreadable and I think within a year or so will be "blank:.

Arling you may panick the guy for no reason that his car was repainted

Thanks guys. I looked under the hood and didn't see it but did not look in the owners manual. I hope the car wasn't repainted.

You guys are a great help!

Ah... But did you locate your second copy... If not you may not know if you car has been repainted

BTW: The factory will NOT issue new options stickers. So unless you can reproduce one some how, the 2 that came with the car are it....

I'm holding onto the fact I have both as proof I NEVER had the hood repainted or replaced....
