Headlight woes

Simple uneducated question guys. I've tried searching and can't come up with anything.

Say you've got some ugly headlights like this:

What are your options? What needs to be replaced and whatnot and what's the best place to buy the new parts?

Thanks!

You could put in clear halogen headlights or the litronics(Porsche xenons). Both do not have the amber like yours.

Problem is litronics went up to $2.5k/pair recently...........just buy clear halogens $400-600/set used and put a HID kit/$100-150 on,OEM ones aren't worth $2.5k.

You could put in the newer style 996 tail lights.

They are something like $500/pair new.

i saw someone smoke the whole front headlight and just replace the side marker. but that will only work if you are planning to go with the silver/black theme for your car.

those tail lights from ebay look good though.

The car is black. I'd rather stay with the clears. Do I need the entire assemblies or can I do the oven trick like my e46's?

I have a set of smoked headlights I will trade for the orange ones in good condition. I have the litronics now. I had them professionally painted with a clear coat+little bit of black paint

Thanks ZEM. Looks like there are a lot of people here and on eBay selling some headlights.
I haven't had so much luck finding the taillights. Any recommendations? Am I just searching wrong? These orange tails are horrid.

hi guys,

i heard that there is a way to manually remove the orange in the headlight? not the corner piece, as i've already replaced that with a clear piece, but actually somehow grind out the orange in the main headlight housing?

has anyone, or does anyone know anything about this?

thanks in advance!
