what is this in my bumper??

Hi,

I was washing my car (01 996 c2) the other day and notice this thing for the first time, it looks like its unplugged to something... my car still runs perfectly. Please help me id what it is and what it does. Thank you.

Looks like an outside air temp sensor.

It should secure a little bit farther back so it is not visible.

Outside temp sensor. It simply snaps into place into a blk round plastic bracket just slightly back where it is hanging. If you get down low (on all fours) you can easily see it.
