997 Preliminary Orders Guides Are Out

Both the Carrera and S include PSM, homelink, tire pressure monitoring system, auto dimming mirrors, rain sensor, PCM (nav optional) & footwell lighting. The Carrera, with 18" wheels, is actually priced less than the '04 996 comparably equipped!

Hardly....sounds more like good news to me.

With my new C4S, I have a proven and time-tested system of wonderment to enjoy, aggressive lines front/rear, wider track and all the amenities I'd want. The 997 is a coupe, my C4S is a cab, and the lines of the 997 aren't enough to make me go for it.

Some people will like the new style, but I like the 996 C4S widebody cab I just got. And I believe there are enough people out there who aren't going to pay MSRP for what dealers erroneously call a 'new' model.

Just my two cents.

Finally they are making standard what should not be optional (PSM), now if they would only include the leather interior as standard we could match the interior of a $25K-$30K Honda Accord. Thank god the 18" rim is also standard now too. I have never been a proponent of Porsche pricing.

RennTech has them. No pricing in preliminary guides.

The order guide reads like a Cayenne order guide including the 19" "sport design" wheels. Big surprise!
