My 996 getting ready for european car magazine
Here are some pics of my work in progess for european car magazine, car audio magazine, performance buisness news, and fresh coast. The base chasis was a 99 996 carrera. Let me know what you guys think and be honest. This is my first porsche build as far as a complete cover car kinda deal and i want to make sure i dont over bling the car. Pics are throughout progression of the build.

Just my 0.02
The build looks great...and I just have to beat the dead horse. THE WHEELS have to go....I completely understand your thinking and the process on how you got the wheels...the problem everyone has is MAYA is not a brand that is associated with sports..and definitely not racing history.
Now if you had a 750iL or a Range Rover or a CL55 something like that...those rims and lips would look AWESOME, fit the car and would be magazine worthy.
You are right Kinesis was recently bought out...but still the brand still has a racing history...maybe I am biased how about CHAMPIONS? They are very classic and have that panache...Porsche peeps respect. I agree I am not a huge techart fan and I dont like flat face rims either...but BBS makes great wheels as well...
either way the flares and fitment of the kit is sweet...great job on that.

Yeah. Dont get me wrong guys, im a huge racing fan and theres no one here more into performance than i am. I have had a hard time with wheels trying to find something that will SET the car off. So far about 60% of the people like the crazy wheels, 40% say they are to much. These are also NOT off-the shelf mayas. They are actually pretty light. Will you see them on the track,,,,,,no. I will be playing around with different setups, but for now im just trying to get the car together to see what i can do and bring some new parts and ideas to the porsche crowd. There is no ONE perfect setup for a car that everyone loves, so this will NOT be my only porsche project car. I will be picking up a 996 TT after this and doing a more raced out gut wrenching setup. Im just trying to build a tastefully tacky car for the mags right now: )
hahaha...i like that...a "tastefully tacky" car....in that case you have succeeded my brother! haahaha....good luck and keep us posted on the builds!
