Angry Fix It Licences Plate Tix

Hi all,

Just got a no front licence plate ticket while parked. I was wondering if there's a quick and easy way to install the plate back on. I have the original plate holder, but I've seem to have lost the plate holder connectors/screw box. Is there anyway I could just go to a hardware store and purchase some special type of square connector for a temporary fix instead of having to go to the dealer to order the two parts?

Thanks in advance,
Rocky

Rocky,

Where exactly did you get the ticket? I drive the route from Fremont to Sunnyvale/Mountain View every day(Hwy880 / 237). I hope the cops in this area are not too mean.......

Did they just stop you coz the front license or for other reason but give you the ticket "by the way" ?

Hey Rocky....how are things. It's been a while.. if it's the Rocky I know.

This happened to me once. I got a piece of velcro and attached the plate to the upper half of the bumper above where the holes are. It lays pretty flat and should suffice until you replace the holder...if you do, that is.

I only put my front plate on before the annual state inspection.
How's Dad and the family?

Thanks all. I'll either go the velcro route or just have my friend write-off (sp) the ticket. I just wanted to avoid that path if possible.

I got the ticket parked near 19th Avenue near Stonestown SF. What makes it worse is that the street that I parked on does not have any time limit and does not need any meter person driving by. There was no other citation on the ticket. Seems like he was out to get me!

I am going to leave the front plate off after I get this taken care of. I'm a bit unclear on why people just pay the full portion of the citation, $100. If I pay the full $100, does that mean that I won't get a ticket for it anymore? From what I understand, I can just fix it, pay $10, have a PD sign the back and the citation is completed. Am I wrong?

Hey Don. All are well. Been studying hard and haven't had much time online. Hope all is well on your side.

I got one of these in the bay area probably 3 years ago. I put the plate on, went to a local police station to have them sign the ticket, and they signed it without even going outside to confirm the plate was on. I wrote a check for the small fine (don't think it was as low as $10, nor as high as $100) and went home and took the plate off.
