i bought mine off my dad when i was 18 and though it nickled and dimed me to death i loved the car. i eventually sold it after many many miles of driving pleasure and got a mustang which i had wanted since i was little. once im done with the mustang ill start shopping for a newer porsche to have both.
even though mine was old i was always impressed in the quality these cars have, and the enjoyment recived from owning them. im only 21 right now and i hope to have many more porsches to come

When I was 16 I worked for this guy who had one. He took me to the LA car show where I saw a 1976 930. The curves, the whale tail, those fat tires. I was done! I still have a photo of that car.
I chose the 911 b/c of it's rear weight bias. It takes a little more to get it under control than a 50/50 balanced car. Also, the local PCA where I live (GGR) is really top notch. We regularly get more than 8 runs in a day (some times 10 or more not including fun runs). Hoping that my driving skill goes up (like some of those 3.0/3.2/993 guys).

My first 911 was acquired in '86 because of the performance and style. The most recent purchase this year and the other 5 or 6 in between were for the original reasons but also the way the original lines have been retained over the years with technological and luxury refinements.
The 911 is one of a kind by far!

Driving is my form of therapy. I've driven (not owned, but driven) many different cars. The porsche provided one of the most sublime driving experiences I've ever had. Given that I work a little over 70 hours a week, I wanted my "therapy time" to be as blissful as possible. My 996 has given me all that and more.

. Could care less about the prestige part.
