Hey everyone,
I need some advice. I have a 2000 Porsche carerra 2 narrow body. I have brembo 355mm big brake kit on the front. Now I think I have the stock rotors and calipers on the rear. I have to replace my rear rotors and pads. Should I put the stock setup on again or maybe different ones. I dont track the car so I really dont think I have to go with something crazy. I am new to Porsches so could anyone tell me what size rotors I have on the rear right now and what pads they put on there? Also, if I dont go with the OEM set up, what can I put on there that is not to expensive and what company? How is Zimmerman rotors compared to other makes such as Brembo? Any advice would be appreciated greatly. Thanks in advance..Paul W.

 

Sorry, but if you don't know what you have on the rear, and don't give us any photos, how are we supposed to tell what you have? That could make a difference in recommending what you should do!

IMHO though, if all you do is drive it on the street then stick with the stock setup. Anything else is overkill, especially with the front already upgraded.

 

I measured the rotors and they are about 12 3/4 inches and they are a one piece rotor not two. I dont know what size the stock rotors are and that is why I am asking what is a good one piece aftermarket rotor or should I just stay with the stock set up. Sorry for the confusion.

 

how does it handle and how does it look?

 

go with the stock, %80 of the stopping power is done up front. The stock brakes are really top notch, bigger brake upgrade benefits in better heat dissipation, stopping power gain is minimal... If you want better stopping, go with race pads.

 

go stock. best performance, best price for pads and rotors. If you are not tracking you will never out drive them.
