new clutch?

I dont need a new clutch but it seems like when people get a new clutch in a porsche i hear they useually have to get a new flywheel...is this true? Why can the flywheel just be machined?

oh and i have a 99 911 6 speed, for the record

Never heard that before. I think you are referring to people who need a new clutch tehy go ahead and (MOD) a light weight flywheel while the tranny is apart.

IMO it would not be necessary if its just a clutch replacement.

IronMan, you hear the flywheel chat from the guys, myself included, who wait a bit too long. That usually takes the flywheel with it.
