Maybe your wife will like it better if the gauge face is covered in a designer fabric/pattern like Jeans or Burberry?

I want an LCD gauge so I can change the face color.

I bought a set of yellow gauge faces from FVD for my speed yellow cab and they're perfect. They also got them for me in a little over a week.
