Best size wheels and tires for performance for 996
#16
I can understand. You chose the same tire sizes and increased your rim diameter by an inch and you upgraded your tires. Your car is an inch higher.
If you keep the rim/tire size the same (which is the common practice) you have to have a lower profile.
How does your traction control work? Is your speedo accurate?
I guess you could do that and lower your car an inch and you would be back to stock height with bigger wheels or would the traction control and speedo be effected? Anyone care to comment on that?
Rim width has nothing to do with ride quality. What are your tire sizes?

so long as your widths/offsets are spot-on, you're fine to go with their advice. peter @ wheelexperts has good knowledge along this front.

Im glad its working for you. I wish I could drive yorur car to see the difference. As another memeber pointed out you are beyond 3% on the rear.
I didnt realize this. I wonder how they got arond DOT regulations?
Traction Control works perfectly, and my Speedo is MORE accurate as you know the stock speedo is NOT accurate....I am using my GPS to gauge my speed and its 1 mph off...with 18s it was 4 mph off.

In regards to getting better performance going from 18s to 19s I’m not going to comment.
In regards to whether it’s an issue consider this point - loads of 4x4ers go from 31” rolling diameter tyres to 35”. Throws you speedo out like buggery, saps power and uses more juice, but everything else is fine!
even on my discovery 3 with abs and all that jazz I’ve increased rollin diameter by a bit over a inch and it all still works fine.
