Sump guard install

Anybody install the sump guard???

It looks like a simple install, but is there anything I need to know ahead of time. Do I need to purchase mounting hardware or can I use existing hardware.

Porsche part # 996 107 981 00

TIA

I had one installed a while ago, pretty cheap too, something like $100 including install. Well worth it IMO. I think they re-use the same bolts...better ask Loren.

Not a dumb question. It is a little extra protection for the bottom of the engine. From what I understand the 99 models have exposed bolt heads on the sump that can snag and cause some major damage to the case. I figured for ~$100, it is cheap insurance on my lowered C2. It is essentialy a skid pan.

As Sloth mentioned it's pretty cheap insurance. It's only a piece of sheet metal, so it may not prevent major damage, but it does provide some protection from debris/bottoming etc......mine is plenty scratched up BTW. I'm glad it's back there, plus it's recommended by the factory with RoW 030 suspensions.
