Sun roof wont close fully

Sun roof wont close fully
I have a 2000 996 C2
This past summer the sunroof started to act up it still has power but when I go to close it goes about ½ the way and then comes back. I check to see if it wasn’t getting stuck any where and it wasn’t
I tired disconnecting the battery over night to see if it was just something with the memory and would fix it but nope
I did get it closed but I had to force it while pushing the button I haven’t tired opening it all summer but now that it’s in storage I wanted to see what the issue was I pressed the button and it opened fully no problem but still would close fully
Has this happened to anyone?
I tired searching the forums but had no luck
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
