I have two products that I will be testing. One of them I will leave on the car.

A new set of bypass pipes produced by a So Cal race fabrication shop (promised to be less expensive and same high quality), and the new 996 mufflers from Racing Dynamics.
Good times.

I have also started looking into performance mufflers as well, not looking at "loud" but a refined sound.
I know some have bought mufflers but are looking for a louder version, switching for simply a change or removing them before selling the car
If anybody has a nice set (mufflers, ha) available for a 01 N/A please let me know.

Thanks

I still have the Z-Teks available. Mufflers and headers. Almost new. They weren't loud enough for me.

Not at all. Sound exactly like the APs. That's why I'm selling both sets - too quiet for my taste. They are very mellow and deep. No drone at all.

Brando- Enjoy the AP's! Glad they went to a "good home"
Got the RD's installed- They are slightly larger and about 1lb heavier than the AP's, and somewhat mellow (but so were the AP's when new).
Very smooth on cold idle where the AP's gave a tinge of vibration. They also did not smoke like mad initially like the AP's did.

I've got 50 miles on them so really need to take a road trip and burn in to see if they open up. The sound is very similar to the AP's in depth.

hmm.. the AP's I had were not a quiet muffler at WOT, and about 2x as loud as a stock muffler at idle / cruise.

Definitely quiet compared to bypass pipes but loud compared to a stock muffler. But, you do have to put about 1k miles on them before they finish opening up. At least, that was the case with mine.

Great sound IMO.
