The subwoofer box , its a chalenge in a 996 but turned out very well. I'm a fan of high end car audio like many of us here so the installer that always does my stereos designed a MDF wood and custom shaped fiberglass sealed enclosure that would fit two 10" subs and would fit behind the rear seats and blend with the interior curves/shapes and materials. I highly recommend it for 8" or 10" subs, MDF combined with fiberglass and covered in the same interior as the car. Along with the usual dash tweters/4" mids, 6" fitted in the doors and an amp in the trunk, it sounds great

Rockford Fosgate 10" subs, 4 channel MTX amp at 2 ohmns running the 6" (RF also or Infinity Kappa? I'll have to check on that, its been a while and changed so many times...can't believ I don't remember) , the tweeters and mids set, and the subs, while the rear coaxials are powered with the appropriate crossovers directly from the PCM head unit and stock CD player.
