Minor 996 mods question
Minor 996 mods question
Just a few quick questions about a couple of minor mods.
I ordered aluminum gauge rings for my 996 frrom Vertex. I received them and quickly saw that they were "metalicized," and not a flat aluminum to match the rest of my interior, so I had to send them back. I need to find a source that provides flat finish aluminum gauge rings.
Secondly, my C4 has silver script on the tail end, and I would like to change it to a more low-key, black script. One of the places I checked was the Performance Products catalogue. The catalogue has the "Carrera" script for my year (99) but not the "4" for my year. Is there a difference in the number "4" between the years? (they offer a black emblum for the 89-94 years)
I did however order the K&N intake, and am looking forward to some increased performance, as the Vettes I have owned in the past seem very fast by comparison to my newly aquired 996.
Any suggestions about the above would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

I'm not exactly sure where you'd be able to get the black Carrera 4 badge, as I believe like you stated that they only came in silver (and silver calipers!).
But I can say with confidence that Eric at BumperPlugs should be able to help you out with both the rings and the badge. Even if it's not a factory finish, he should be able to custom make anything you request at a reasonable price.
Just a happy customer.
