What looks horrible, the bumper? the yellow? the grill inserts being yellow?

 

dwn, i'm not sure one should even have to explain to you how/why that car looks like an absolute embarrassment.

 

Even that most of the time I don't agree with Ben, I think he's right. (of course there are many ways to get your point accross) Leaving the grills black and maybe painting the wheels black will help with the overall look of the car.
Right now it looks like the car was dipped in yellow paint.

Other than that, your car is awesome! ( <- always a positive remark!) LOL!

It wont change the fact that I think it looks good or anything, but when someone makes a comment like "it looks horrible" its only natural to ask what about it do you think its horrible? I'm not sure where the hostility is coming from. It was just a question.

 

If U like it then thats all that counts....but in my opinion a car needs to have 2 colors to go back and forth and contrast each other...too much of one colormakes it seem overdone....so the front bumper, grills and lip seem a bit much to me. Also the yellow wheels do as well...not enough contrast....use black to contrast the yellow. I think black wheels, yellow calipers and then black grills would make it all blend very nicely....

 

I definitely agree with a little contrast being needed. The grill inserts are the first thing I'm doing to go back to black. I bought it as it is now, but even that being said, I bought it cause I loved it. My Signal green 997 gets the hot/cold responses too. I've always been a big fan of color. I do have black wheels on my signal green car. This is my second 996 thats yellow with yellow wheels. I've always loved that combo.

 

Hey as long as you like it, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. But IMHO, I would change the grills black (like you said) and change the color of the wheels. I like the MKI sides and wing with the turbo front though.

 

Sorry man it's nothing personal, but i'm not the kinda person who's going to say ok cool and then giggle away huddled with a group of people laughing behind your back.

again, it's funny to me how one man's blah is another man's blah. the car looks disgustingly funny the way it is right now with the all yellow parts and this is coming from a guy who actually likes yellow sports cars. i know many who don't, but who cares about that. if i saw your card, i'd take a picture and show other people to laugh at.

if you got the right wheels (not a fan of all black wheels) and got that grill back to stock form (left/right/center matte plastic black), you'll be doing much better.

 

this thread got stolen hahah. I thought you guys were talking about the black one on the front and I was like how is that looking horrible? Ok then I see what u guys are talking about. Not a big fan of yellow, but that one is just way too much.

 

Sorry, did not mean to hijack the thread. I thought we were just posting turbo front bumpers and I put in my two cents about mine and what I planned to do. Although everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I wasn't expecting the type of bashing reply. And since it is, afterall, a discussion forum, I asked what about my car was so horrible to Ben. The reply I got is that nobody needs to explain to me why my car is an embarrassment. This is a discussion forum and if someone feels that way, they have to discuss why the comment was originally made. If you dont feel like explaining it, then dont say it.

In general, maybe I'm not used to how this forum works, but I would never make such a toxic comment about someone's car. I'd simply say, "Its not my style." To say my car is an embarrassment and the only reason you said that is because you're not the type of person to huddle in a group blah blah blah is nothing short of ridiculous. The best example I can give you is this. Your avatar is your face. I'm not going to sit here and type how it's busted and you should do this with your hair and do that with your lips and so on.

That looks like it came out of the 1 day paint job where they are too lazy to mask off or take off what is not suppose to be painted. (I know because I had a 1 day paint job on my prelude in high school).

 

Hey dude, even though I must say that Ben 98.9% of the time has negative comments, he is still by far entitled to his opinions. And this 1% time, I have to agree with him.

Second, your posting for others' opinions is asking for it. Suck it up and don't get so offended. Do you want us to lie to you and tell you how *****in' your ride is? Sorry pal, that is what's so great about this forum, "Honest opinions."

FYI, all that should matter is your own taste of style. If you're diggin' your ride, leave it the way it is. Don't change it because others do not feel the same or that you feel bashed on this forum.

 

I'm ok with the original comment, "It looks horrible." My issue started right when I asked what was wrong with it. The response then was, we shouldnt have to explain what about it is horrible. I just was totally confused at this kind of reply in general. I asked because I was under the assumption that it is a discussion forum and that's what we did, discuss. It's not that I'm offended, I just did not expect hostile comments. I was just expecting an explanation of what about the car he thought was horrible. Later on, he explained. End of story. Again, didn't mean to hijack the thread, I was just stating that my car has the bumper and I'm changing the grill inserts to black. That was the jist of my post, not to argue or fight about it with fellow members.

You have a very clean car with some things that make it look unnattractive. Obviously you have put a lot of care and hard work into modding your ride, but sometimes it is easy to lose objectivity.

Sit back and think about it for a bit, look at some other nice examples of SY pcars and you'll probably get a good idea of what needs to be done.
