ben,

depends on who you talk to and it also depends on what night. also depends on what type of crowd you want to be with. trendy hot spots are:

Level, Underground, Moda, Stone Lotus, Crem, Rhino Bar, Soundbar, Vain, Religion, Y-Bar, Manor off the top of my head.

other places are more for locals or have been around awhile but still play good stuff: Zentra, Vision, Buzz, Le passage, Ontourage, Transit, rednofive, funky buhda lounge, Crobar, and spybar. these places are mostly downtown

but even if you venture out from that area, there are other places a few miles away that are enjoyable such as: goodbar, maxbar, empire lounge, plan b, debinar, salude, evil olive, and junebar.

so its up to you, take your pic LOL

im the resident DJ at Buzz on Fri, and Vain on Sat. and fill in at religion on thus. also on the radio every weekend on 103.5 kiss fm.

i will be in chicago for work at least once or twice this year and maybe if it's cool with you i can make a visit to where you're the resident DJ. regardless, thx for the club/lounge hot list.

not sure what you're reading, but i've been stating pretty clearly the performance hit is negligible. and neither of us would run our 19s on the auto-x/track day anyways.
Not sure what you are reading either. These trendy 19s reduce performace period. Do the physics.
I like the way they look, had them on my last c4 and they reduce handling, accel and braking and you can feel it. That i why I have 18" HRE on my car now. As for the twisty roads, I live in them and drive them every day. I do not really care how much bling my car has, I drive it because I LOVE the way it handles. That is just my opinion, and Ben you are more than free with yours (quite often negative) so take it for what it is worth. Show or go, or maybe a happy medium and stay away from cheap knock offs.

Oh Yeah I am married to a hotty as well so maybe that is why 19s dont mean so much to me. Wife could care less what size wheels I roll

i drive my car for the very same reasons as you. and again, reduced performance? all that additional weight pales in comparison to what the driver can do behind the wheel and what he feels is fun. as you can see, i value looks. i'm vain. but i also love the flat6 noise and the braking and steering feel of the 911. if i was all about performance, i wouldn't own a 911, you'd see me in an elise or heck i would've kept my leightweight, very flickable and raw s2000.

so roll on your 18" wheels made by a company with 0 motorsport experience. i love HRE. but if we're going to get on this whle performance is king spiel, why don't you further reduce the weight of your car? you sure could. take out the ac, take out teh passenger seat.. when does it stop?

there's an equilibrium and it's very subjective. what's not subjective is the FACT that 19s look SIQ so long as it's done up right. 18s, not so much no matter how killer the wheel (i like your c-HREs, just would get them in 19s).

show us your car. post a pic. let's see what's up.

^ both nice rides. Looks-wise, I like the wheels on the old car.

Question- Why not roll your '04 GT3 on the factory GT3 18's? If we're talking purist and not upgrading for looks, wouldn't they be the best choice for the car?

No question they looked good but they were pigs! I am not against upgrading for looks at all, just thing fashing and function can go well together.

HRE wheel saves 11lbs in the rear and 8 up fronts or 38 lbs of unsprung lbs

I think the math goes something like 1lb unsprung is 7lbs of sprung. So this is like shaving 200 plus lbs off the car. 7 lbs is equal to 1 hp so this is like a 30hp boost to the car where it really matters. You can really feal the diiference.

I can see the logic in that- so the HRE's are lighter than the Carrera 18" hollow 5-spokes?
