brake noise

just had new gt3 brakes with pagid yellow pads put on my car. they squeel real loud at speeds below about 10-15 mph. is this normal? will the noise go away or decrease when they are broken in?

if you didn't bed them in properly they will squeal...try several heavy applications from 60mph to 30mph and then a few from 80mph to 40mph without locking up the brakes and that should help...if not...there are anti brake squeal shims for the GT3 that you may not have (ask your installer if he put them in as most don't)

good call. my mechanic told me that he did not put the shims in. he has them on order already. i'll try your other recommendation till the shims come in. i'll be on the track mon and tues so i'll have a chance to brake them in. guess i'll have to put up with the noise for a couple of days.

have safe and fun days Monday/Tuesday...the squeal won't bother you at the track

ps...you might want to bed them in good before your track days so you get the best performance

if you are getting that much heat (warped rotors) you might see if the cup brake air ducts will fit to add some cooling...just make sure you chock the car after a run and don't use the emergency brake cuz that will warp the rear rotors sure...if you warp the new fronts then you need more cooling
