What is the Porsche warehouse doing????

I've had 2 problems w/ my 996 both been looked at by Mckenna Porsche.

1. My left PSE is broken on the inside. McKenna said they need to order one from Germany. It's been 2 weeks and no answer as to when it'll get here.

2. My Top won't close. Mckenna repaired it to the point that it'll work. But it closes and opens really slow and noisy. Again, they said they need to get the part from Germany to correctly repair it.

My question is this. Why is the Porsche warehouse not stocking these parts to support their dealers in US? Or I am getting some kind of delay tactic from the dealer?

Peter

It has changed over the years, but this is the current situation.

There are 3 warehouses in North America. If the part is not there then it comes from Germany.

When you search on PET it gives you an inventory list for all locations, including other dealers that may have the part sitting on their shelf.

If it is not a common part then it is not stocked in the US.

Your car is not made in the US. Plus, you want one muffler, and not the kit.

You dealer is not about to order the kit and use just 1 muffler. A 1 muffler replacement is not a common part.

I have a laundry list of issues with McKenna Porsche...My car has been there for 2 days waiting for the "ok" to fix my exhaust under warranty as well as fix my coolant tank...had to talk to the GM to get things moving. I suggest you call another dealer if you can. Newport gives me excellent work....

Why wouldn't they replace BOTH cans? I guess I don't understand this one.....sounds like a bald tire type of deal that is not recommended (only replacement of one so now you have one bald tire and one fully treaded tire).

Won't the cans sounds different now?
