I'e been trying to get some variations with "911" in the plate and all have been rejected for bad taste. I wonder if they're associating 911 with 9-11 (as in NYC). :/

 

Can use this but a gaudy, aftermarket wing is required. Replica body kit, de-badged and ghetto-style exhaust tips are a major plus

My favorite 911 plates I've seen around are:

IX XI (Roman numerals for nine eleven)
STUTGRT (Stuttgart)
NOTACUP (on a GT3 with a cup car wing)
2TURBOS (on a 996TT)
50YEARS (on a 993 Turbo S that I'm guessing was built around Porsche's fiftieth anniversary... one of my favorite plates)
NOARENA (on a 993 Targa in that sort of burgundy color that always gets mistaken for Arena Red... thought it was a funny "porsche insider" type of plate)

Friend of mine has a DB9 with the license plate "YR HONR"

 

I've seen the plate "jdge nt," on a car owned by a deeply religious fellow...
