I sprayed my tails and added a red film over the reverse lights.

Hmmm, I wonder what just the red film would look like over the clear? I never really liked smoked tail lights but the job looks very clean.

 

It looked really good with just the red over the clear on the bottom. Almost good enough for me to abandon my plan to smoke the top. I should have taken a picture, but it really cleaned up the choppy look of the lone square...

I think this is better fitting of my theme though.

 

Yeah it looks good for what you're going with, what did you use as far as film? Did you just cut around it with an exacto?

 

Yeah, I searched ebay for a red film and cut it before I put it on with a stencil. I am thinking about spraying it, but not sure if I will pass brake tag inspections.

 

looks great! did you use a black/clear mixture to spray or did you buy tint spray?

 

I actually bought nite shades spray and sprayed 6 coats of clearcoat over it.

I know a lot of people on here love the all red look, I don't think anyone makes them, this might be a viable option. Do you think the film would go on good to cover all clear on the tail light?

 

I think a red/clearcoat mix woult work better with the tails. The problem with the films is that they do not want to cover the whole curve without creasing..

I think you did a very nice and professional job of it, but I'm not feeling the style. It looks too aftermarket / non pcar. But hey if you love it that is all that matters, and it appears you definitely put some time and hard work into it.
IMO it would look better with a bit more transparency to the tint.

Can you post a shot of the entire rear of car?
