Is a Porsche 911 an "exotic" car?
"calling it transportation is like calling sex reproduction"
I would consider it exotic in my area. Central FL
I' ve seen a handful of 911's in my 4 yrs here.
I' ve never seen a 911 TT except via a planned meeting (dave) in my area.
When I gas my TT up someone always comes over and tells me what a hot car I have.
So at least its semi exotic..

I think asking actual owners whether their cars are exotic is akin to asking married men if their wives are exotic. They're too close to the subject matter to give an answer that's not skewed to their varying experiences.
I think that to the "masses" Porsche is generally considered an exotic car. To those of use driving one every day, the perception may lose it's luster due to familiarity.
Maybe Leno should do a "man on the street" about this question ...

i don't find any car exotic. look up the definition guys. seriously. go talk to some chicks and tell them you have an exotic car. you'll sound like a complete dweeb.

Ferrari's have ALWAYS been special. That's "exotic". i'm comfy with calling some women exotic looking or a stripper an exotic dancer.. but a car? never ever. heck, even if i had a pagani, i wouldn't tell people yea i have a supercar dude or tell them it's considered a supercar. i'd call it "my hooptie."

no schmidt but at least it's "tenable" whereas calling your car exotic is laughable and dork like
EXOTIC
adjective
1.of foreign origin or character; not native; introduced from abroad, but not fully naturalized or acclimatized: exotic foods; exotic plants.
2.strikingly unusual or strange in effect or appearance: an exotic hairstyle.
3.of a uniquely new or experimental nature: exotic weapons.
4.of, pertaining to, or involving stripteasing: the exotic clubs where strippers are featured.
I would think #3 applies here......exotic has many definitions.
Just as the word 'sick' or 'siq' is used to say something is cool or awesome, the word exotic can have several meanings.
BTW, I don't have an 'exotic' car.

if you really want to sound like a dweeb to women, walk up and call them "chicks"

This seems to come up frequently and always boils down to a semantic argument and a lot of pointless posturing and ego stroking. It's a car and certainly a cool one. Concerns over being called an "exotic" seems to appeal more to the people who are interested in whatever affluence this car affords people which, in the great scheme of things, is very little.
