B&M under car SSK

Just ordered the B&M ssk for the under car. I was wondering if there are any precautions that I need to tell my installer or is it pretty straight foward? How long should it take, should I do it myself? Any suggestions?

Poursha is infamous around these parts
It's pretty straightforward. The B&M instructions leave a bit to be desired, especially the pictures which were very difficult to decipher. Here's a link with pix of my install:

It should take about an hour, and could be a DIY if you have access to a lift (you need to remove a few of the under car panels to access the transmission linkage, which would a major pain without a lift), but I didn't so I had a local independent Porsche shop do the install.

One caution is make sure you have the correct part. For my '04 C2 it is part number 45183. I was first sent the wrong part (45182) and we realized it was wrong after getting it almost fully installed, so we basically had to do the install twice. This pic shows the correct part on the left, and the wrong one on the right (see how the bottom of the blue piece is bent and doesn't properly attach to the ball pin at the bottom):

You're going to love it!

Poursha,
Thanks for the info and the great picture. I'll share the info with installer since I don't have the lift.

Lucent Motors just installed my B&M under car mount. I love the way it shifts.
