Habu

Saw a 996 C4 with the plate "HABU" on El Camino in Carlsbad, CA this morning. Belong to anyone here?

Interesting - as a naval aviator, it means something to me, as in the nickname for the SR-71. Are there any other meanings?

Meaning of Habu

Habu is the Japanese name of a poisonous snake found on Okinawa, a cluster of islands at the southmost region of Japan, near Taiwan. During the Cold War, SR71 flew out of Kadena Air Force Base on Okinawa, and got that nickname. Until the end of Vietnam War, Okinawa was under the military jurisdiction of the US, and the US militar had a huge presence there. Habu is indigenous to Okinawa, poisonous, and springs to attack. I've seen them while spending my teenage years on Okinawa.
