Video shifter diagnostic for the experts

ok guys, i installed the 997 shifter, everything went well except that i read everywhere that the shifter is much smoother than the 996 so i thought i would be ok but it seems like it is now worst. My problem is not in the shifter but it looks like it is in the cable.

At the same time, i don't know if that's a problem because i never tried any other Porsche so i don't know if this is something normal or not.

When i go from let say 3rd gear to 4th, i can hear a clicking sound coming from the shifter. i found out it comes from the cable, and it seems to be something loose or notchy in the piece circled in red. I did a little video where you can hear it a bit but my camera sucks so sorry about that.

You will have to raise the volume to hear it well, the big click that you hear in the middle of the video is the gear coming in, that is normal since i shifted all the way until the gears would come in. So you can see it does it if i just move the shifter a little or if i engage it completly.

Anyone ever had that problem? Should i replace my cables?

Check the cable housing brackets on the transmission end. I just found both cables disconnected from mine. They snap into place...

P.S. It is on the front passengers side of the transmission easily in view with the car on jackstands.
