I am trying to remove the drivers side vent on my '04 C4S. I removed the torx screws and the top of the vent is clear from the dash but it looks like it won't come off until the light switch is removed.

Pulling on the switch gives me about an inch of play forward but does not come out. Can anyone advise how to remove the switch and/or vent if the switch does not need to be removed? TIA!

 

Nevermind. I found that I need to pull back on the switch and from the bottom insert a pointed tool (I used a plastic interior tool) and push up and pull out at the same time. I then discovered a hidden T20 screw on the right, attached to the dash.

All-in-all, there are three T20s (two on the outside, one hidden behind the light) and then the unit can be lifted and pulled torward you....
